The IEEE Student Branch NIT Durgapur was formed on 25 th february 2009 with active cooperation from students and the effective guidance of the faculty advisors.We have started this branch with a gigantic strength of 123 members and are still counting.We are supposedly one of the largest student branches in Eastern India.

This student branch works under the sole authority of the Branch counsellor,who heads the working committee consisting of student members.The Chairman heads the student members assisted by the Vice chairman.The working committee also consists of the treasurer , the secretary. and the members of various other committees.

The IEEE family works with certain objectives which includes to be one of the largest and active student branches in eastern India and thereafter make our presence felt at the national arena.We also aim at working in close collaboration with the industrial world which would thereby enable the students to contribute with their innovative ideas in the field of technology.

The branch has planned of a techfest which would be completed in four phases.This techfest would give an opporunity to the students to put their knowledge to test.These events would provide the students with an opportunity to rub their shoulders with some of the best in the field and test their mettle against pratical industrial industrial problems.In all "Armature.... be in phase" would be an extraveganza providing an arena for the budding technocrats of our nation to prove their skills in the immensely huge world of technology."
