Procedure for Selection:

- As decided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, the procedure for selection of candidates for admission to the Bachelor Degree Courses in Engineering/Technology in National Institute of Technology Durgapur and in other NITs is on the basis of State Rank/ All India Rank (AIR) of AIEEE conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the same is executed through counselling by Central Counselling Board, AIEEE under guidance from MHRD, GOI as per schedule notified by CCB.

- In addition to the normal intake, a few seats are reserved for Foreign Students who are nominated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India.

Eligibility:

- The minimum academic qualification for admission is "pass" in the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English, having secured pass marks in each subject.

- Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible for admission in 2011-2012 session. However in case of SC, ST and PH candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

- The candidate must be in good mental and physical health, and should satisfy the standard physical fitness criteria of the Institute (to be examined and certified by the Medical Officer of the Institute).

Computing,  Internet  and  Intranet  facilities 

:

The  entire  campus  including  Academic  Blocks,  Students’ hostels,  Faculty  residences,  Guest  house  connected  in  LAN  through  OFC  and  Wi-Fi.  95 Mbps Internet connectivity extended to all. Adequate computing facilities are extended to all students in Computer Centre and computing laboratories in the departments.

 

Sports /Indoor games & Gymkhana  facilities

:

Ample facilities including a 16- station multi gym available for indoor/outdoor games.

1.25  lakhs  books,  full-text  e-journals  including  Science  Direct,  IEL,  etc. through INDEST, subscription to a large number of journals, different learning  resources.

 

Fee Refund Rules on Withdrawal

:

No fees will be refunded to the students except the balance of his /her caution money. If a student withdraws his/her name before commencement of classes only a sum of Rs.1000/ will be deducted  from  the amount deposited at  the  time  of admission  and  the  balance  amount will  be  refunded  by  A/C Payee Cheque.

5.  Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC as per CCB guideline in original one Photocopy 

6.  Income Certificate of parent/ Guardian in original and one Photocopy 

7.  Five copies of passport size recent photograph

8.  Draft in favor of NIT, Durgapur, payable at Durgapur  

      • • Rs 2,100.00 for candidates, OP/OBC (For Round 1-3 and SPOT round candidates)
      • • Rs 6,017.00 for SC/ST (For Round 1-3 and SPOT round candidates)
      • • Rs 31,017.00 for the fresh allottees of 4th and 5th round
