Procedure for Selection:
- As decided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, the procedure for selection of candidates for admission to the Bachelor Degree Courses in Engineering/Technology in National Institute of Technology Durgapur and in other NITs is on the basis of State Rank/ All India Rank (AIR) of AIEEE conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the same is executed through counselling by Central Counselling Board, AIEEE under guidance from MHRD, GOI as per schedule notified by CCB.
- In addition to the normal intake, a few seats are reserved for Foreign Students who are nominated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India.
Eligibility:
- The minimum academic qualification for admission is "pass" in the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) and having secured pass marks individually in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects; and any one of following optional subjects.
1. Chemistry
2. Biology
3. Computer Science
4. Biotechnology
- Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible for admission in 2012-2013 session. However in case of SC, ST and PH candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
- The candidate must be in good mental and physical health, and should satisfy the standard physical fitness criteria of the Institute (to be examined and certified by the Medical Officer of the Institute).

Fee Refund Rules on Withdrawal |

A candidate, who gets admitted to the Institute but cancels the admission on or before July 30, 2012 will get a refund of Rs. 34000 (for OP, OPPH, OBC and OBCPH candidates) / Rs. 24000 (for SC, SCPH, ST and STPH candidates). The amount will be refunded to the candidate by A/C Payee Cheque on receipt of the initial deposit amount from CCB.
A candidate who gets admitted to the Institute and cancels the admission after July 30, 2012 will not be eligible for any refund.

1. Provisional admission letter in original and copy of allotment letter (if upgraded subsequently)
2. AIEEE Admit card in original and one Photocopy
3. AIEEE Rank card
4. Class X Board certificate as Proof of date of birth
5. Mark sheet of qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) in original and one Photocopy
6. Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC as per CCB guideline in original and one Photocopy
7. Income Certificate of parent/ Guardian in original and one Photocopy
8. Three copies of passport size recent photograph
9. Draft in favor of NIT, Durgapur, payable at Durgapur
- • Rs 2,100.00 for candidates, OP/OBC (For Round 1-3 and SPOT round candidates)
- • Rs 6,017.00 for SC/ST (For Round 1-3 and SPOT round candidates)
- • Rs 31,017.00 for the fresh allottees of 4th and 5th round
